Elan C12
Innovative feed solution formulated to improve the well-being of farm animals.
Composed of a unique blend of medium-length 1-monoglycerides, mainly monolaurin, and carefully selected micro-ingredients, Elan®C12 effectively stimulates the immune system, improves the inflammatory response and provides efficient control of Gram-positive bacteria and fat-developed viruses. By harnessing the synergistic effects of these organic acids and micro-ingredients, Elan®C12 promotes animal health, reduces reliance on antibiotics and contributes to an improved defence mechanism against pathogenic challenges. The product is available in both dry and liquid form.
CONTROLS BACTERIAL OVERGROWTH
Glycerides are formed when glycerol is mixed with certain organic acids under a specific temperature, time and pressure. This esterification reaction creates amongst others 1-monoglycerides, that have a strong effect on animal health and performance.
Monoglycerides of organic acids in Elan®C12 are up to 30 times more effective against bacteria than their original acid. Of the saturated fatty acids, lauric acid has the greatest antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria (e.g. Streptococcus suis, Staphylococcus aureus, Clostridium perfringens, Enterococcus faecalis) and fatenveloped viruses (e.g. Infectious Bronchitis Virus, Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus).
MORE ACTIVE IMMUNE SYSTEM
Elan®C12 improves natural body defense systems by increasing antibody titer values, indicating a more active immune system by an efficient villi protection and development. Body protection systems are crucial for animal health and performance. Reducing the negative impact of pro-inflammatory processes via anti-inflammatory compounds brings the livestock industry one step closer to achieve maximal growth potential. A properly functioning immune system responds adequately to challenging conditions and does not overreact when small challenges occur. Such overreactions can even restrict performance.
